Our Story
Jonathan and Melanie Broga founded Potomac Pool Service, Inc., in 2003 to provide a higher class of residential swimming pool service to the Northern Virginia, Montgomery County and Washington, DC area.
While working in the local commercial pool industry in the 1990’s it became increasingly clear that the local residential market was lacking the professionalism that homeowners were expecting and deserving. Jonathan was consistently asked if he would serve residential pools, as the current providers in the area were unreliable, uninformed, and inattentive.
Since 2003 we have grown from one truck with a computer and a printer inside it, to a focused and effective office of 6 fulltime employees that are committed to providing the most personal and most complete service to your swimming pool. The quality of our employees is the single factor that sets us apart from the rest of the industry. The local suppliers comment on it, and our current customers appreciate it. Our technicians are known for being friendly, knowledgeable, conscientious and reliable. We take pride in our appearance by maintaining clean uniforms and vehicles. We strive to create lasting relationships with our clients. In order to maintain consistent service we create fixed routes so that you will have the same tech each week, on the same day. We consistently communicate via written notes, e-mail and telephone to ensure that our clients know as much, or as little, as they desire in regards to the operations of their pool.
In 2007 we built our first pool, in response to the consistent feedback we received from our clients that local pool builders were not timely, dependable or customer focused once the contract was signed. Like the service portion of the company, we saw a need in the local industry that we have filled by building relationships and providing the very personal service that such a significant investment deserves.
The Owners and staff at Potomac Pool Service realize that a pool is an extension of one’s home, and may be the focal point of social entertainment, a private retreat for adults or a major part of family recreation. If nothing else it is an expensive and special part of your home that requires specialized service to maintain its’ appearance and value. With this in mind we realize that the water must consistently be clear and inviting, and the equipment dependable and efficient when you choose to use it. We work with the goal of minimizing surprises for the pool owner with routine preventative maintenance, and consistent maintenance of a proper water chemistry. We stay educated on the latest advancements in energy efficient motors, pumps and heaters, to save our clients money and reduce energy consumption where possible. We always strive to act in your best interests when serving your pool.
